And in my continued effort to get your hearts & minds ready for the kickoff of college football, I present to you today's video, which is ironically the game that inspired the picture in this post. In 1990, Gene Stallings' first year as the Tide's head coach, Vol fans were looking forward to ending their four-year losing streak to Alabama. Late in the game, Stacy Harrison (#1) blocked a 50-yard field-goal attempt by Tennessee, sending the ball bounding back to the Vols' 37-yard line. With four seconds left, senior place-kicker Philip Doyle nailed a 47-yarder, giving Alabama a 9-6 win. Listen to Eli Gold, Doug Layton, and Jerry Duncan describe the action. ENJOY!!
