Pam Grier Region Round 1 Results

#1 Sanaa Lathan vs. #16 Anika Noni Rose - No surprises here. Sanaa ran away with this victory.
#2 Alicia Keys vs. #15 Tasha Smith - Same as with the 1-16 matchup, this one was really no contest. Alicia destroyed her to advance.
#3 Kenya Moore vs. #14 Kim Kardashian - This one wasn't really all that close either. Kenya Moore defeated Kim K. my a wide margin.
#4 Taraji P. Hinson vs. #13 Dolicia Bryant - In what has to be the biggest upset of the tournament thus far, Dolicia Bryant defeated Taraji Hinson by a WIDE margin. This was completely unexpected, and we congratulate Ms. Bryant as we bid Ms. Hinson farewell for this year's tournament.
#5 Lauren London vs. #12 Jennifer Hudson - Much like Rihanna, maybe coming into this tourney after such a trying time wasn't such a good idea for Jennifer Hudson. It didn't help that she was facing Lauren London. And the results reflect this line of thinking. Lauren London ran away with this one.
#6 Keisha Knight-Pulliam vs. #11 Keri Hilson - Even though Keri is trying to stake her claim as the hottest chick in the game, she fell in the first round at the hands of Little Rudy.
#7 Tamia vs.#10 Dania Ramirez - Even though she's been out of the light for some time now, Tamia pulled out some old tricks to defeat smoking hot Dania Ramirez.
#8 Stacey Dash vs. #9 Mel B. - The ageless wonder does it again. Stacey Dash defeated Melanie Brown by a wide margin to advance.

#1 Gabrielle Union vs. #16 Keishia Chante’ - No chance for the young Canadian beauty as Gabby Union ran away with this one to advance to the 2nd round.

#2 Claudia Jordan vs. #15 Melissa de Sousa – Making a very strong showing in her very first DimeBeauty Tournament appearance, Claudia Jordan looked impressive in her win over the #15 seed.

#3 Eva Mendes vs. #14 Regina Hall – No surprises here as Eva wins it by a wide margin.

#4 Kerry Washington vs. #13 Selita Ebanks – Kerry Washington, perhaps fueled by being seeded so low, absolutely destroyed Selita Ebanks.

#5 Megan Goode vs. #12 Michelle Obama – The First Lady put up a valiant effort, but unlike her Presidential spouse, she couldn’t pull this one off as Megan Goode won by a very slight margin.

#6 KD Aubert vs. #11 Ashanti – KD Aubert’s victory was not a surprise. What was surprising is how handily she handled Ashanti to move on the round 2.

#7 Eva Pigford vs. #10 Tyra Banks – In today’s top matchup, the top model pupil fell at the hands of her world famous teacher, proving once again that the teachers always teach the pupil everything that the pupil knows, but not everything the teacher knows.

#8 Kellita Smith vs. #9 Serena Williams – This was a very hotly contested matchup, but in the end, Serena made a first round exit as Kellita Smith was able to knock her off to advance.
