The T.O. Watch Begins

Man...how did it come to this? A receiver still playing at a very high level who is just a 49 catches short of 1000 for his career, just shy of 15,000 receiving yards, and 11 TDs shy of 150 receiving TDs for a career is looking for work today. And certain teams that could use a receiver of his caliber are not touching him with a 10 foot pole!! My initial predictions were that he'd wind up with another NFC East team like the Giants (for insurance for Plaxico Burress) or the Redskins (because they need a big receiver). So far I'm 0 for 2. Check it:

Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger reports : “They don’t want anything to do with [Owens]. Not today. Not tomorrow. And from the sound of it, not even if Plaxico Burress goes to jail.”

Chris Mortensen of ESPN is reporting that the Redskins have issued an adamant “no thanks” regarding the possibility of signing Owens.

For the record, I'd take him on my team in a heartbeat if we didn't already have history and we were a better fit for him (I'm a 49er fan for the uninformed).

Update 11:14 AM
WOW!! Are these people reading my blogs? As soon as I said something about the Dolphins, Ravens, and 49ers, all 3 made statements that they have no interest.

Count out the Dolphins . This is obvious. I forgot that Parcells is running that ship.
Check PFT's story about why he will NOT be with the Ravens.
And PFT has also posted a story about the Niners not being interested.

Update 11:36 AM
Count out the Vikings. He burned bridges with (then Philly Offensive Coordinator) Brad Childress.
And the Falcons also aren't interested.

Update 12:14 PM
Count out the Cleveland Browns.

Update 3:01 PM
Not like the Eagles listen to their fans or anything, but they have a poll on their official site asking their fans if they's want T.O. back on the the team. And with 32,406 votes at the time of this posting the Ayes have it resoundingly (76.4% over 23.6% for Nos). Again, clearly the Eagles' fans don't have a voice, so I doubt this happens, but we'll see...

Regarding the Chargers from the San Diego Union-Tribune:
While rumors fly about where Terrell Owens will land next, rest assured he will play for the Eagles again before he plays in San Diego on a team put together by A.J. Smith. So that takes care of that theory.

And now it sounds as if the Raiders are saying that they don't want him either. WOW. Could T.O. possibly have to retire?

Keep it locked right here for updates.

In the meantime...
